This year's AGM will take place on Monday 9th February 2009 at 19:00 for 19:15 local. Any nominations for Committee positions or notification that the Committee member(s) will not be seeking re-election, should be sent to Club Chairman David as soon as possible please. The first meeting of 2009 will atke place on Monday 5th January 2009, and will be an informal get-together at the former Ladybarn pub – now named 'The Wishing Well' on Elizabethan Way, Newhey (just a few hundred yards from the Musuem). We will meet there from 1900 utc. If any member should require directions please contact one of the club officers for details.

The Museum was succesful in its bid to receive a substantial sum of money in the 'People's Millions' competition, which was held on the 'Granada Reports' programme on ITV1 on Wednesday 27th of November, and everyone at the club would like to send our congratulations to all our friends there for this fantastic achievement, which we all think was well and truly deserved. This Sunday (7th December) sees the monthly steaming day at the museum, and club members will again be in attendance, and operating the special event museum callsign of GB0ESM - when we're not too bust chatting with the visitors that is! If you are planning a visit you will find us in the club shack in the Generator Room, do stop by and say hello, we don't bite and we're always pleased to have an 'eyeball QSO' or two.

Tuesday the 8th of April proved to be an unusually nice day, and we were finally able to get the VHF/UHF and HF antennas mounted at the new clubhouse. Alan from A.S. Installs came along again and did the honours with installing the wall brackets and mast on the side of the Engine House, and we were all very pleased with the final results, and are looking forward to spraying some RF about in the coming weeks in preparation for the special event station on the 4th of May.

After lashing out all of Doreen's money on a brand new FT-857 at the Blackpool Radio Rally, Club Chairman David has now put his FT-817 up for sale and full details can be found from the link below, or by clicking on the picture. Well we all know David don't we, so we know it won't have been used on the air very much and will be in excellent condition!:-)
